Wedding at Château de Puissentut
A Romantic Destination Wedding at Château de Puissentut
On a warm August day in the heart of Gascony, love fills the air as we celebrate the stunning wedding of Jules and Huw at the Château de Puissentut — a true hidden gem nestled amidst the rolling hills of Southwest France.
Originally from England and Wales, this beautiful couple, already parents to two young children, chose France as their destination wedding location. And what a perfect choice it was! With its rustic charm, golden sunflower fields, and serene countryside, Château de Puissentut offers everything one could wish for in a romantic, intimate celebration abroad. Even better, it’s just 10 minutes from my home in the Gers, one of France’s most authentic and sun-drenched regions.

Located in the heart of the Gers, just a short drive from Auch and Toulouse, Château de Puissentut is a truly remarkable wedding venue in France. This beautifully restored medieval castle blends the rustic charm of the Gascon countryside with the timeless elegance of a refined estate.
Surrounded by rolling green hills, golden sunflower fields in the summer, and a sky that’s always shifting with light and color, the château is imbued with an atmosphere of serenity and romance — the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable celebration.

A Place Full of Poetry
An Intimate Ceremony in a Place Full of Poetry
Jules and Huw’s wedding ceremony took place in the dovecote, an intimate, charming space filled with timeless beauty.
To reach it, guests followed a wooded path, like a green tunnel leading to a secret world.
The flower children walked slowly, carried by the emotion of the moment.
The bride followed, arm in arm with her father, her heart racing.
This gentle walk through nature created a soft, almost out-of-time transition.
As they arrived, the atmosphere turned magical.
Warm, authentic, and filled with love — it was the perfect setting for a ceremony infused with poetry and grace.

The Dovecote
The Dovecote – A Unique, Open-Air Ceremony Space
With no roof overhead, this unusual dovecote offers endless possibilities for creating a ceremony that reflects your personal style: think flower garlands, fluttering ribbons, or light, flowing drapes…
On-site, rustic wooden benches and hay bales welcome your guests in a simple, natural, and authentic setting.
Live musicians can accompany the ceremony, adding a touch of poetry to this suspended moment in time.
All around, nature reigns supreme. The soft birdsong, the gentle light, the silence. Everything feels peaceful, serene, and blissfully far from the world.

All around, nature reigns supreme.
Birdsong, soft light, and silence fill the air.
Everything feels peaceful, untouched, and blissfully far from the rest of the world.

In the Heart of Nature
A Bucolic Reception in the Heart of Nature
The gentle climate of Gers makes it the perfect location for an outdoor reception.
Around the château, the flower-filled gardens and shaded paths create a living, authentic backdrop — a true gem for your wedding photos, bathed in natural light.
And if you dream of endless sunflower fields, visit between June and August for a golden canvas that embodies the beauty of a typical Gascogne summer.

Vendors at Château de Puissentut
Local Vendors and a Photographer Who’s Just Around the Corner
The Château de Puissentut works with a selection of trusted local vendors to ensure every detail of your destination wedding is perfect. Whether you’re looking for a talented caterer, a creative florist, or skilled musicians, they can recommend professionals who match your vision.
To help your day run smoothly, experienced wedding planners are also available to coordinate all the logistics, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free.
As for me — I’m Isabelle, a local photographer based just 10 minutes from the Château. I know the venue and the region intimately, and I’m always here to help couples make the most of their wedding in the Gers. If you care about the planet and believe, like I do, that every small action counts, we’re probably a great match.
Even though many English-owned venues tend to work mainly with UK vendors, I bring a unique perspective: I’m Breton, and I lived in England for over 12 years. I understand the Anglo-Saxon culture, and I bring that same warmth, sensibility, and attention to detail to every wedding I photograph.
So if you’re planning your wedding at Château de Puissentut and looking for someone local, experienced, and aligned with your values — feel free to get in touch!
