Awards, prizes, and other distinctions are also a recognition of the quality of my work.

Even though I’ve been a photographer for 30 years, in 2020, during the COVID era, I decided to dive into prestigious photography competitions. That year, amidst the pandemic, was a period of self-reflection and exploration, a perfect time to test my limits and measure myself against other talents from around the world. Now, in 2025, after several years of intense time and financial investment, I’ve decided to slow down. I’ve proven myself, and it’s time for me to refocus my energy on what matters most.

As of now, I’ve already halved my participation in competitions and plan to reduce it further, possibly keeping only two or three of the most prestigious ones at the international level.

I invite you to explore the world of national and international competitions such as: Portraitiste de France, MyWed, Fearless, Wedding Photography Select (WPS), This is Reportage, ISPWP, Inspiration Photographers, Wedding Photojournalist Association, XP Photographers, and Regards d’Auteur.

You may wonder: “Why participate in competitions?

Competitions, much like training, allow us to progress, assess ourselves, push beyond our limits, and reflect on our work. The health crisis gave me the opportunity to delve deeply into this world, especially thanks to my photographer friends with whom I could exchange ideas and learn.

In a world saturated with images, creating powerful, meaningful photographs seems essential to me. I’ve invested time and energy into refining my eye, to better capture your moments, your story, and to represent them with accuracy.

I would like to sincerely thank all my couples and their guests, who allow me to share their memories. Because of you, I continue to grow, challenge myself, and push beyond my limits. My goal is to bring more creativity to my images and become increasingly attentive to the smallest details, so that your memories of tomorrow remain timeless, frozen in a constantly moving world.

Welcome to my world of competitions!

Competitions

The various competitions

Portraitist of France - FFPMI

French National Competition

I was a member for several years of the FFPMI, the French Federation of Photography and Image Professions. It is a national federation that brings together regional photography and image professional unions.

Its primary mission is to actively defend the profession and contribute to the recognition of the craft.

Every two years, they organize the “Portraitiste de France” competition.

The title of Portraitiste de France is awarded to photographers whose professional work in portrait and wedding photography meets a set of strict and rigorous artistic criteria.

The portfolio must consist of 12 photos taken over the last three years, covering the following themes:

– A pregnant woman with a companion
– A child from 1 day to 5 years old
– A portrait of a person over 60 years old
– A group or family of at least 4 people
– A corporate portrait, taken in a company or studio
– 3 free portraits, in studio or outdoors
– 4 photos of married couples or couples outdoors, with at least one full-body shot.

The title of Portraitiste de France is awarded to candidates whose average score is greater than or equal to 11/20 in each of the two categories (portrait and married couple categories), with no submitted photo scoring 7/20 or below.

An important point to note: the Portraitiste de France diploma is not permanent; it is temporary, lasting for 4 years for Portraitiste de France and Portraitiste de France Honneur, and 6 years for Portraitiste de France Excellence and Portraitiste de France Major.

Therefore, the title of Portraitiste de France is a mark of quality, assuring clients that the photographer capturing life’s moments is the right one and reassuring them about the quality of the images they will receive.

Every two years, I participated in this very academic exercise, and I received the title in 2017, 2019, and again in 2021.

I stopped in 2022, as I found their approach to photography too traditional for my taste.

Once again, thank you to my clients for allowing me to publish their photos.

Très heureuse de remporter pour la troisième fois consécutive le prestigieux titre de Portraitiste de France !

MyWed

International Competition (Weekly Contests & Annual Grand Competition)

In 2020, I was honored to be World Champion for the Bouquet Toss and a finalist in the “Wedding Party” category.

This was no small achievement, as the competition received 15,785 photo submissions for the single-image nominations, with a total of 2,023 photographers competing! That year, 88 countries took part in the MyWed Award annual contest.

I’ve also had the pleasure of winning several other awards, including recognition for my wedding story submissions.

FearLess

A competition whose parent company is based in the USA and managed by Huy Nguyen. Fearless, in my view, is the most difficult to win; it is also the most prestigious in the world of wedding photography. There are 5 annual competitions, with an average of 10,000 images submitted in each competition. Only 2% receive an Award. A little pride to still be in the running, as I often forget to submit my photos 😉

WPS - Wedding Photography Select Inspirational Wedding Photographer

It was a competition headquartered in England and managed by Darius, which no longer exists as of now.

Originally, WPS was created as a wedding photographer directory in the UK, but over the years, it expanded internationally.

Its essence: inspirational wedding photography. In my view, WPS was in the same league as Fearless.

During the two years I was a member, I had the pleasure of winning several awards, which I am very proud of 😉

Inspiration Photographers

This competition, headquartered in Brazil and managed by Frankie Costa, has been a part of my journey since February 2020. I’ve participated in five annual rounds, and my work has been widely recognized. I’m honored to have been highly ranked since my early days in wedding photography, and more recently, in portrait photography starting in 2023. I plan to retire from this competition in 2025.

During the first two years of the competition, a particular rule applied: no photos that had already won awards elsewhere could be submitted. This restriction was in place until 2021. Since then, a new rule allows the submission of any photo, with no restrictions.

This is reportage

A competition with its headquarters in England, managed by the top Alan Law.
Its uniqueness? No staging, no poses—just images captured in the moment! An excellent exercise in wedding documentary photography!

Their slogan:
No poses; nothing staged: This is Reportage

WPJA - Wedding Photojournalist Association

A competition headquartered in England.

Its uniqueness? Multiple wedding photography contests, awarding only the most captivating and interesting photos with a photojournalistic angle. The judges don’t come from the wedding industry, but rather from the world of photojournalism. These are very spontaneous, lively photos! 😉

There are several contests offered by the WPJA, including Spotlight, a more recent contest that doesn’t come with any awards (scoring system)..

WPJA - AG

Awards from the Artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalists

As the name suggests, it’s a more ‘artistic’ approach to wedding photography taken during the current year. These are more refined, more aesthetic photos, where posing is allowed.

WPJA - TLC

True Love Captures Awards from Real Weddings – TLC

True Love wins awards for its wedding photos full of emotion., any year

Diamond de la WPJA

This competition doesn’t award points, even though it includes the word “Award.” It focuses on engagement photos, meaning taken “before the wedding,” or couple photos, any year.

The XP Photographers

The XP Photographers is an international competition created in 2021 by a Frenchman, Julien LAURENT-GEORGES. There were 4 annual competitions. I participated for a year, but it ended up overlapping with the quality of other competitions.

Regard d'Auteur

Regard d’Auteur was a directory of French photographers that later opened up internationally. Managed by Thibaut Bissuel in 2016, it had a bit of a ‘VIP club’ feel for photographers. I wasn’t very regular with this competition, as six annual contests felt more like running a photography marathon! But it had the merit of offering different themes… And unfortunately, I couldn’t include everything, as their website vanished into thin air!
